Tofu “‘fish”, Mat hates the word to-fish but I’m using it anyways.
Whether you want to have the fillets by themselves or in a burger like I have here, this recipe has so much texture and flavour that you’ll be wanting to make it regardless!
Wasabi To-Fish Burger

Ingredients
- To-fish
450 grams 450 Firm tofu, pressed
4 TBS 4 Yoghurt
8 sheets 8 Snack nori (seaweed) (optional)
1/2 cup 1/2 Panko crumbs
1/2 cup 1/2 Wasabi peas, crushed
- Burger
4 4 Burger Buns
Vegan Tartare Sauce
Lettuce mix
Cucumber, peeled
Snack nori (seaweed)
Directions
- Cut the tofu into the desired size (cut in half, then in half again to reduce the thickness). If putting the nori in the centre cut in half to reduce the thickness again and sandwich the nori sheets.
- Mix the panko and wasabi peas together, then dip the tofu in the yoghurt, then in the crumb mixture and press to stick. Cook in an air-fryer or oven at 180 for 10 minutes or until golden.
- Assemble your burger, eat with fries, or even a fresh noodle salad and enjoy! So easy!
