Now this recipe was insanely easy to put together, that easy I was able to enjoy my lunch break whilst making it from scratch. If you’re in a hurry or want a lazy meal, this one will give a flavour punch.
You can substitute the strips for tofu in this bowl, and any greens will work (just use what you’ve got!).

Ingredients
2 TBS Cornflour
1 tsp White pepper
500 grams “Beef” strips (I’ve used @meetco)
3 TBS Sesame Oil
2 TBS Hoisin Sauce
2 TBS Soy sauce
2 TBS Kecap Manis
3 Spring Onions, sliced
4 tsp Minced Ginger
500 grams Pre-cooked Rice
2 tsp sesame seeds
1 bunch Broccolini
Directions
- Combine cornflour and pepper in a bowl and toss beef strips in to coat.
- Heat a wok over high heat, adding 1 TBS sesame oil. Cook the broccolini, then the beef (in batches if necessary), and set both aside separately.
- In the meantime make the sauce by combining the oyster sauce, soy sauce, kecap Manis & 2 TBS water in a bowl.
- Add another TBS of oil to the wok and fry 2 of the onions until softened. Add the ginger and stir-fry for 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Return beef to the pan alongside the sauce and fry for 2 minutes or until sauce thickens to the desired consistency.
- Serve with the pre-cooked rice, broccolini, and scatter sesame seeds on top and extra spring onion.
